How To Increase Text Link Ads Sales
Text-Link-Ads is awesome. As time passes by and I get more and more of my blogs approved, I am quickly discovering how lucrative participating in Text-Link-Ads can be. At this point in time, I still make more money across the board using Google Adsense and Amazon.com; however, Text-Link-Ads is really starting to climb. Realizing this, I have come up with a few tips that I will personally be doing within the next week or two. I really want to make sure people find success with making money online. I want everyone who has set out goals with making money online to succeed. So, with that being said… here are a few tips and suggestions that you can use towards helping increase the number of links sold in your Text-Link-Ads account.
-
Your Description: Your description is very important. Most people really mess up here. I do too. The problem with most descriptions is that they are written in a way which formally tries to target readers instead of advertisers. To most bloggers, including myself, we have it so engrained in our brains how we like to market our site. We know exactly how we want our site to look in Google, blogrolls, etc… However, this is all for the purpose of search engine marketing, gaining more traffic and increasing the number of readers and RSS subscribers. The TLA site description is different. You are not targeting readers, you are targeting advertisers. When people read your description on TLA they are windows shopping. If you have a wonderful description about your site that targets the advertiser, you will increase your sales. If your description gives the advertiser a reason to buy a link on your site, they will buy. Your description should give multiple reasons why the advertiser should advertise with you and not the others on the list.
-
Keywords: Keywords are extremely important. When you write your description, you should pull out all the important keywords within and add them to your keyword list. If your description says that you like to blog about Apple iPhones, then one of your keywords needs to be Apple iPhones.
-
Description and Keyword Length: I haven’t quite figured out the exact formula; however, one thing is for sure, keyword stuffing tends to spread your listing too thin. For example, if you use 6 keyword phrases and one of which is, “blogging tips“, you have more of a chance pulling up in the first page of results compared to having “blogging tips” in addition to having 26 other keyword phrases. Ideally, it is best to make sure your site pulls up for 6 good keyword phrases. Make sure these same keyword phrases are in your description. I think its better to pull up on the front page for six words than to pull up on the 20 page for 20 other words.
This isn’t going to be a lengthy post. Its all very simple. If you want to increase your TLA sales, write a description that is geared for advertisers and not readers. Make sure you use no more than 6 very good keyword phrases in your description. Additionally, make sure these same six keyword phrases are entered into your keywords section. Don’t abuse the listing form. Be accurate and honest. Also, typical SEO rules apply. Such as the fact that 9 out of 10 people never click to see results on the 2nd page. Make sure you find six strong keyword phrases that puts your listing on page one. Also, making money is one thing; however, accepting links on your site that are not relevant to the content is not very effective. I do business for the long haul and I am working on finding advertisers to do long term business with me.
If you haven’t joined Text-Link-Ads yet, I strongly recommend that you do so. You can make a lot of money using TLA. Currently, TLA is ranked in 3rd place for me. Within 30 days, I wouldn’t be surprised to see TLA take 2nd place over Amazon.com.

Hey Garry, on a more serious note, I’d like your thoughts on what I learned from TLA directly. On one of my blogs, my posts were attached to my TLA account. Trouble is, they were REALLY old posts and did not include any of my recent ones for many months.
When I inquired to TLA why this was happening, I was told that they “intentionally index older posts” and “our spiders will crawl and index all qualified posts on your site” and further still “Advertisers like the older posts more, that is why our system is designed that way”.
That does not make one bit of sense to me. Why would they deny themselves and me other posts where other advertisers could make more money or at the very least increase traffic?

I always love it when I get great results, a lot of money, or good things for nothing.
